Dare Memorial – 43rd Anniversary Celebrated in Dili

To commemorate the 43rd Anniversary of the inauguration of the Dare Memorial and the 70th Anniversary of the Japanese Landing on Timor, a forum entitled “Historical events of Timor-Leste and Tourism Opportunities for the Future” was held on 13 April 2012 at Dili Institute of Technology.

This unique forum, commemorating the 3rd anniversary of the inauguration of the Dare Memorial Museum and Cafe, sought to explore the economic/tourism potential of sites of historical significance to Timor-Leste. Students of the Dili Institute of Technology’s School of Hospitality and Tourism expressed a keen interest in learning more as to the genesis of the Dare Memorial Museum and as to how they might contribute to tour and tourism development in future.
